The native app can store drawing assets on your device so important sheets remain available when the jobsite connection drops.

Best for: Native-app users heading into limited connectivity · Before you begin: Connect to the internet and confirm you are storing the latest revision.

Store a sheet

While online:

  1. Open the Drawings page in the native app.
  2. Find the sheet's thumbnail.
  3. Select Store on device.
  4. Wait for the stored indicator before going offline.

Constructable saves the assets needed to preview and view that sheet. Storage happens per sheet, so repeat this for each drawing you expect to need.

Offline storage includes the sheet thumbnail, quick preview, and optimized PDF. Very deep zoom may be less detailed offline than it is with a live connection.

Confirm storage before relying on it

Don't wait until you're offline to test access. Open the stored sheet once and confirm it loads.

Storing a sheet is different from downloading a PDF to another app. The stored copy is managed by Constructable and used by its drawing viewer.

Remove stored sheets

Select the stored indicator and confirm removal when you no longer need a sheet on the device. After removal, an internet connection is required to load it again.

Removing the local copy does not delete the project drawing.

What offline storage does not guarantee

  • A sheet that was never stored may not open without internet.
  • Connected records, comments, and search results may need network access.
  • A stored sheet is one specific revision. After a new revision is published, reconnect and store the current revision before relying on it offline.
  • Comments, connected records, search, and other synced data may require a connection. After reconnecting, confirm that important field changes appear in the project before relying on them.

Before a site walk, store the latest sheets you need and reconnect briefly to make sure project data is current.

If a drawing will not load

When the viewer cannot access the required asset, it displays an offline message. Reconnect, return to the Drawings page, and store the sheet again if needed.
