Drawing permissions at a glance

Constructable separates drawing access from the workflows connected to a drawing.

• View drawings allows a project member to open published drawings, search, star sheets, and use permitted viewer features.
• Change drawing sets, drawing areas, and drawing pages, publish and unpublish drawings is the permission used in this guide when we say drawing-management access.
• Comments, Topics, RFIs, Submittals, Punch Lists—shown as Quality Lists and Quality Items in parts of the viewer—and Takeoffs have separate permissions.
• Entering Takeoff mode requires permission to add or change takeoffs, not only permission to view them.

Default roles provide a starting point, but each project's permission settings are the final authority. Do not change someone's broad role solely to expose one drawing action when a specific permission can be adjusted.
