Finding and managing current drawings
Finding drawings with search, stars, and tags
Constructable gives you a few ways to reach the right sheet without scrolling through the entire index.
Constructable gives you a few ways to reach the right sheet without scrolling through the entire index.
Best for: Everyone with View drawings access · Note: Creating or assigning shared tags requires drawing-management access.
Filter by sheet number or title
Use the search field on the Drawings page to filter the current area. Enter at least two characters. Constructable uses a flexible match against sheet numbers and titles, so a partial term can still find the right sheet.
This filter searches the drawing index, not the text printed inside the PDFs. To search drawing content, use the search tools described in Navigating and searching in the drawing viewer.
Search text is remembered per drawing area. If the page seems unexpectedly empty when you return later, clear the search field.
On a phone, drawing-content search is available from the sheet selector or the viewer's overflow menu rather than a permanent toolbar button.
Star frequently used sheets
Select the star action on a drawing to add it to your personal Starred group.
Stars are useful for:
- A superintendent's most-used logistics and floor plans
- Sheets needed during a specific phase
- A small review set you open repeatedly
Starring a sheet does not change the drawing for anyone else, and it does not affect publication or discipline.
Organize and filter with drawing tags
Tags are project-defined labels that can group sheets across disciplines. Drawing administrators can create tag definitions and assign them to one or many drawings.
To filter:
- Select Filter by Tag.
- Choose one or more tags.
- Choose whether drawings should match any selected tag or all selected tags.
Active filters appear near the toolbar and can be removed individually or cleared.
The active drawing-tag filter carries into the viewer's sheet selector. This helps you move through the same filtered group without returning to the index.
Tags vs. disciplines
Use a discipline for the sheet's primary professional category. Use tags for flexible project-specific groupings.
For example, Electrical is probably a discipline, while Permit Set, Building B, or Foreman Favorites may be better tags.
