Mobile work follows the same project

Whether you use a phone, tablet, or desktop, you work with the same organization, project records, and access rules. When you have a connection, your changes can finish saving and your teammates' updates can appear in the current project.

In the native app, a reload or app update returns you to the project you had open on that device. Switching projects on this device is what changes that landing project; opening a different job on desktop does not.

On a smaller screen, you may find controls in a header, drawer, bottom toolbar, or overflow menu. Look in these compact-layout controls, then check your permissions and the current record status.

Resilient field photo capture

In the native app, you can capture a photo with the camera or choose one from your device library. The app keeps pending media in a local upload queue while it sends the files. A photo can appear in your current task before the upload finishes, and an interrupted upload can retry.

Pending does not mean safely shared. Keep the app open when instructed, wait for uploads to finish, and verify important media in its album or connected record. If you are documenting a concealed condition before the crew closes a wall, confirm the photo finished uploading before you treat it as shared evidence. Signing out or removing local data can discard unfinished local work; closing the app or losing connectivity can delay an upload.

Drawings prepared for weak connectivity

In the native app, you can make the sheets you need for a site walk available offline: a single sheet with Store on device, a whole discipline from its header on the Drawings page, or the entire drawing area with Make All Available Offline. You can preview and view those sheets if your connection drops. Offline storage isn't available in a web browser.

Stored sheets follow the latest published revision. While the app is open and online, it downloads newer revisions of stored sheets, and of sheets newly published into a stored discipline or area. If a revision is published while you're out of signal, your device keeps the revision it already has until you reconnect, so open the app with a connection before you rely on it offline.

What this means for you

Capture photos, configure notifications, and store the drawings you need before field work.
If the camera is blocked, the app shows Camera Access Required. Select Open Settings to allow access, then try again.
Let pending photos finish before you leave the workflow or treat them as shared evidence.
In the native app, make critical drawings available offline and test them while you are online, before entering a low-connectivity area.
Reconnect regularly so your uploads can finish and project information can refresh.
Use drawing administration, bulk actions, Split View, and overlays on desktop web, mobile web, or the native app.
On native iOS, PDF links outside the drawing viewer open in the device viewer rather than the in-app panel.

Stay connected to project updates

Store drawings in the native app before field work for offline viewing. Reconnect regularly to refresh project records, run search and AI workflows, and finish uploads and confirmations.

The drawing viewer supports new-tab revision navigation, Split View, overlays, and bulk administration across desktop web, mobile web, and the native app. Review the feature availability table in Drawings platform and feature availability.

Before field work

While you are online, open the correct project and allow current information to load.
In the native app, make the critical sheets, disciplines, or drawing area available offline.
Open a few stored sheets once to make sure they load.
Confirm camera, photo-library, and notification permissions as needed.
After field work, stay connected until pending uploads finish, then verify the resulting records.
