Use a submittal for a controlled submission and review process with documents, sequential approvals, due dates, a formal result, and revision history.
Best for: Project managers, contractors, architects, engineers, and document control · Outcome: Preserve who submitted, who reviewed, what they decided, and what was distributed.
Opening a Draft starts approvals and assigns its active number. Approvers are notified when their stage becomes current; subscribers are notified of approvals. Closing and distributing moves the record to Done and creates a distribution record.
