Folder sharing controls who can reach the folder and everything below it.

Best for: Document managers and project administrators · Requires: Documents management access and membership in the organization that owns the project.

  1. Open the folder.
  2. Select Edit Shared With.
  3. Choose:
    • Only me to keep access with you and named people.
    • Entire organization to include everyone in your organization and optional outside people.
    • Entire project to include everyone who already has project access.
  4. Add specific people where available.
  5. Select Update Folder Sharing.

The folder creator and access inherited from a parent cannot simply be removed. If the parent is shared with the entire project, a child cannot be made private. Changing the folder updates all descendant folders and files, so inspect the whole subtree before broadening access.

Sharing controls access; copying a folder or file link does not. A recipient still needs permission to open the live link.
