Drawing Areas separate drawing collections. Sub Projects provide another project-level grouping for work.

Best for: Projects with multiple buildings, plan packages, phases, or other distinct work groupings · Requires: Projects write permission; drawing changes also depend on drawing permissions.

  1. Open Project Settings.
  2. Edit General Project Settings.
  3. For multiple drawing collections, enable This project has multiple Drawing Areas.
  4. Enter a unique Drawing Area Name for every area. Select Add Drawing Area for more.
  5. For project subdivisions, enable This project has Sub Projects.
  6. Enter a unique Sub Project Name for every entry. Select Add Sub Project for more.
  7. Select Save Project Settings.

At least one Drawing Area is required. Drawing Area names must be unique, and Sub Project names must also be unique. A Drawing Area that already contains published pages cannot be removed through this form. Existing Sub Projects remain fixed in the form; newly added, unsaved entries can be removed before saving.

For drawing-area design and day-to-day organization, see Organizing drawing areas, disciplines, and sheets.
