Use Project Settings when the choice should affect only the project you currently have open. Examples include its cover image, address, Drawing Areas, Sub Projects, project locations, project cost-code selection, project financial settings, RFI and Submittal defaults, integrations, and visibility.
Use Organization Settings when you are maintaining shared standards such as organization Cost Codes, Cost Types, Equipment, Trades, Bid Tags, email sign-off, organization Financial Settings, or Document Signing Settings.
Changing an organization-wide list does not mean every project automatically uses every item. For example, Cost Codes in Organization Settings maintain the shared catalog, while the Cost Codes section in Project Settings controls the current project's use of those codes.
