Setting default and project notification preferences

Settings form a hierarchy from broad defaults to narrow overrides.

Best for: Users who work across several projects.

1. Open My Account → Notification Preferences → Manage notification channels to set personal defaults across projects.
2. Open a project's notification preferences to override channels only for that project. On web, use the notification bell on Dashboard. On mobile or native layouts, open the project actions menu from Dashboard, then select Project Notification Settings.
3. Choose All Activity, Only my Mentions/Ball-in-Courts/Assignments, or Do not notify me for each channel.
4. Use Reset to Defaults on the project to return to personal channel defaults.

Project channels include Comments, Topics, RFIs, Submittals, Photos, Quality Lists, Bid Management, Daily Logs, Drawing Areas, Schedules, Meetings, and other enabled workflows.

The resolution order is:

Record override → Project override → Personal default → Mention-level fallback
