Adding attachments, stopping responses, and retrying

Attachments add user-provided context to a Chat request.

Attachments add user-provided context to a Chat request.

Best for: Questions about a file alongside project context.

  1. Open Chat and use the attachment control, drag files onto the prompt on supported web layouts, or choose files through the device picker.
  2. Wait for attachments to finish uploading.
  3. Add a clear question explaining what to inspect.
  4. Submit.

Chat can also inspect supported attachments already stored on an accessible Constructable record. Identify the record and file clearly. Organization, project, and record permissions still apply; Chat cannot use an attachment to bypass access.

You can stop a response while it is streaming. Stopping does not guarantee a complete answer; submit a new message when you want to continue.

If a file cannot be used, remove it and retry with a supported, readable version. Never assume an attachment was fully interpreted merely because it uploaded successfully; ask for specific evidence and verify the file yourself.
