Use an RFI when the project needs a traceable question, assigned respondents, a due date, an accepted answer, and a distributable record.

When a person is newly assigned as a respondent, Constructable creates an important assignment notification and can send a timely email when that person's Channels, email settings, and record access allow it. Important emails may be grouped briefly before delivery.

Question attachments belong to the RFI; response attachments belong to the individual response. When closing, Constructable lets you select question and response attachments for the distribution package. Only attachments from that RFI can be selected.

Open RFIs and use the status views, search, and table or panel view to find the record. Review:

You can edit or delete your own unaccepted response while the RFI remains Open and you retain response access. Once a response is accepted or the RFI closes, preserve the history and coordinate a reopen instead of silently replacing the answer.

Closing changes status to Closed and records the distribution. Later, use Distribute RFI or Redistribute RFI to issue a package again. Redistributing a closed RFI creates a new distribution record without changing the original closed time.

The delete confirmation states that deletion cannot be undone. Draft and active RFIs use separate delete permissions. Preserve a closed record when it documents project direction; reopen and correct it instead of deleting history.
